Krista was born in Ventura California on April 5, 1972, and was raised near Houston, Texas. Her mother and father divorced when she was very young, but the experience didn't leave any scars on her, or her siblings. Both of her parents eventually got re-married.
When Krista was a teenager, she began to model locally in Texas, competing in various beauty pageants, which led to the title of "Miss Texas". She also modeled professionally for companies like Montgomery Ward and Budweiser. She was given the title of "Texas Budweiser Girl" and was featured in their national ads gracing billboards, catelogs and even a calendar! She eventually became a celebrity in her home town and the state of Texas. While working as an aerobics instructer, Krista studied at the University of Texas to become a kindergarten teacher.
Driven by her ambitions to become a star, Krista packed her bags, and with barely $1000 in her pocket, took off to Hollywood. A brief stop in Las Vegas won her $2500. After only a week in LA, she won a recurring role on the soap opera "The Bold and The Beautiful" as a bikini waitress named Shelly. Krista admits that it wasn't her best work, but it was a good starting point.
