Jeremy Shockey (August 18, 1980 in Ada, Oklahoma) is an American Football player who currently plays tight end for the New York Giants of the NFL. Originally a 1st round (14th pick overall) draft choice by the Giants in 2002.
In college, Shockey was one of the nation's best tight ends at The University of Miami. Shockey emerged as a national star in 2001. He was 1 of 3 finalists for the John Mackey Award, recognizing the finest tight end in college football. He played just 2 seasons at Miami, but finished his career ranked 6th on the school’s career-record list for tight ends with 61 receptions for 815 yards. Only Bubba Franks (12, 1997-2000), had more touchdown catches than his 10 scores among tight ends who have worn a Miami uniform. |
